The Tassie, originally known as the Silver Tassie, is a golf competition for former pupils of girls' independent schools which are members of The Independent Schools' Joint Council (formerly ISIS).

From 1961 until 2005 the Tassie was played over 36 holes at Sunningdale Ladies' Golf Club.  It then moved to St George's Hill, Weybridge for 5 years.  Now the Tassie is played at The Berkshire Golf Club over both the Red and Blue courses, which are widely regarded as two of the best in the British Isles.

Traditionally the format of the competition has been medal foursomes.   However in 2016 it was changed to Stableford Foursomes. Teams of 4 players play in 2 pairs.  18 holes are played in the morning and 9 in the afternoon.  The winner of the Tassie is the team whose combined net total achieves the highest score.  Maximum handicap allowance is 40 per pair (individual maximum handicap is 24).  Trophies are also awarded to the runners up and there are other prizes for individual pairs.

This prestigious event attracts alumni of schools from all over the United Kingdom whose home golf clubs are affiliated to the LGU.  Past winners include Lady Eleanor Holles, Sherborne Girls and Roedean.  Recently, teams from co-educational schools such as Marlborough have taken part (fielding an all female team).

Enquiries and entries from any qualifying school are always welcome.
